Tequila Blanco

Blanco tequila, also known as silver or white tequila, is the purest form of tequila. It is typically unaged or aged for a very short period, often less than two months, in stainless steel or neutral oak containers. Some might refer to an unoaked and unaged spirit as virgin. This minimal aging preserves the natural flavors of the blue agave plant, resulting in a fresh and crisp taste.

Characteristics of Blanco Tequila include:

  • Color: Clear and transparent.

  • Flavor: Strong agave presence with fresh, vegetal, and slightly citrusy or peppery notes.

  • Aging: Either unaged or aged for up to two months.

Blanco tequila is often used in cocktails like margaritas due to its clean and vibrant flavor profile but can also be sipped neat for those who appreciate the raw taste of agave. It is considered the base form of tequila, representing the essence of the blue agave without the influence of oak aging.

Blanco is the starting point for all Tequilas, if you have a quality virgin product, then the cask aging will only improve upon this foundation.
